Government plans 39% increase for petrol fuel

Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has asked Parliament to approve a proposal by the Transport Ministry to increase the Fuel Levy charge from Kes.18 to Kes.25 per litre.

As reported by the Business Daily, the Cabinet Secretary states that its been 8 years (July 2016) since the rates were last reviewed and don't cover inflation costs associated with construction and maintenance.
